This one hour update session provides a practical refresher on Basic Life Support skills, It ensures participants remain confident and competent in responding to cardiac emergencies

Format

  • 4 minutes: Arrival, Housekeeping and Introduction
  • 5 minutes: Demonstration of BLS
  • 20 minutes: Practical Training on BLS
  • 5 minutes: Demonstration of AED
  • 20 minutes: Role Play of BLS with AED
  • 5 minutes: Questions and Close

Learning outcomes

Recognise the Critical Value of BLS:

  • Describe how Basic Life Support directly increases survival rates in cardiac and respiratory emergencies.
  • Emphasise the essential contribution of bystanders and their actions within the chain of survival.
